ADNOC, one of the world’s leading energy producers based in the UAE, sought to create a series of 3D anamorphic videos for their large-scale outdoor LED billboards. These videos were designed to highlight the company’s various achievements, services, and upcoming national events, including their participation in F1 and National Day celebrations. As a high-profile organization with a global reputation, ADNOC required a meticulous production process, ensuring each step from concept to execution met their high standards. The goal was to deliver a visual experience that captured their essence while engaging audiences with immersive and dynamic content.
ADNOC wanted to leverage the power of 3D anamorphic videos to creatively communicate their role as a leader in the energy sector. With major events such as F1 and National Day approaching, the company needed a series of six short, 15-second videos that would each focus on different aspects of ADNOC’s operations and accomplishments. These videos had to align with their overall brand narrative while capturing the attention of audiences on a massive scale, especially in high-traffic areas. Given the size of the company and the technical complexity of the project, constant collaboration and approvals were essential throughout the production.
The project’s complexity lay in the multi-layered approval process, given ADNOC’s size and attention to detail. Each phase required multiple rounds of feedback, from the initial 2D storyboard to the final animation. Furthermore, the 3D anamorphic format demanded precision to ensure that the illusions would work flawlessly when displayed on the billboards. Technical challenges included testing the animations on-site to ensure they appeared correctly from various angles, especially considering the physical dimensions of the billboard. Balancing creative elements with the technical requirements of anamorphic video in a high-stakes environment was key.
To tackle the project, we initiated a thorough pre-production process with daily communication and feedback from ADNOC’s team. We first developed 2D storyboards, refining each concept based on the client’s feedback before moving into 3D animation and model creation. After multiple rounds of reviews, our team conducted a site recce to ensure that the anamorphic effects worked as intended on the specific billboards. This allowed us to fine-tune the visuals before receiving final approval from the client. Throughout the process, close coordination was maintained to ensure the videos not only met the technical specifications but also conveyed ADNOC’s brand message effectively.
Our team conducted multiple tests on-site at the billboard location to ensure that the 3D anamorphic illusions worked perfectly from every angle. The physical dimensions of the billboard, combined with the outdoor environment, presented unique challenges in making sure that the content would be visually engaging while maintaining its 3D effect. By working closely with the technical team on-site, we refined the animations for optimal display, ensuring a powerful impact once live.
